We can get closer to fulfillment by living consciously, in connection with the energy of abundance, with a sense that we’re supported in being our highest selves. This poem works with vulnerability, curiosity, and intentionality as ways of tapping into a wellspring of support. So we can feel like we’re flowing instead of struggling.
“Who sees all beings in his own Self, and his own Self in all beings, loses all fear… When a sage sees this great Unity and his Self has become all beings, what delusion and what sorrow can ever be near him?” — Upanishads
Have you ever had the experience of contemplating something you want to do or how you want to live, and then you start seeing signs that feel more than coincidences? It feels like they’re signs from the universe, telling you that you’re on the right path, pulling you to follow your intuition.
That’s what’s been happening with me lately. This poem is inspired by this guidance, the intuitive inklings confirming that change really is calling my name.
With the launch of my first book, Sleep Affirmations, happening in just a couple of weeks (wow!) I’ve been thinking a lot about how to move forward. Since I was a young girl, I’ve dreamt of being a published author and this dream-come-true experience is something I want to feel more often.
Wouldn’t it be something special to live in a reality of abundance instead of not having, being, or doing enough? Wouldn’t it be nice, truly nice, to feel supported and uplifted on a daily basis?
I think so. And I think it’s possible, a dream-come-true scenario that’s available to us all.
There are surely changes, big and small, that we can encourage in our own lives to feel like we’ve tapped into an energy of lightness and love.
So, I wonder: How are you living now versus how the highest version of yourself would be living? Do you feel distant from who you want to be? Do your daily practices and beliefs support an inward sense of vibrancy and coherence?
It’s okay if your answers aren’t ideal. Mine aren’t. But there are a few things that I do that really help to usher me into a state of overall abundance: write and read poetry; meditate and visualize, and practice yoga (especially outdoors).
I’m working on a plan, actually sitting down and writing one out, to nourish myself and help myself align with the energy of abundance. Poetry, visualization, and nature are part of that plan.
I wonder, what lifts you up and makes you feel connected to this moment, the truth, and all the supportive energy around you?To live an abundant life, we need to take a look at the little things we think, say, and do each day and build a practice around the things that uplift us and lighten our spirit. tweet this
In case you’re wondering how I wrote 200 affirmations on the same topic (in about one month’s time), you would be right in assuming I was in a state of abundance while I wrote Sleep Affirmations. I was flowing. It’s why the affirmations themselves read like poetry and radiate their own qualities.
I feel it in my heart of hearts that this book of affirmations can help you fall into a deep and healing sleep because it was created in the womb of lightness and abundance. It’s so full of love.
Today’s poem is about being in that flow, which makes it natural to accept and love oneself, to believe in what’s possible, and to feel an overwhelming sense of support in all matters of the heart.Believe in who your highest self wants you to be. tell a friend
I wrote this poem to help us both get still and unite with the energy of creation, of being, so that we can connect with who we want to be and how we ought to live.
With love in our hearts, let’s live the poem today, together.
A Poem to Invite the Energy of Abundance
How to be home
I want to walk the earth
Like there are gems waiting to be unearthed.
How lovely I imagine it would be
If every pair of wings
Looked like a miracle to me.
Hope would live in the breezes and the dirt,
And not just in the minds of children
And their dreams.
There would be new seeds to plant
Wherever my body happened to go.
Everything I threw into the world
Would be delighted
To have me watch it grow.
What a rich gift each day would be
As I lifted my palms to the sky,
My mind open to the moment and
My heart open to what’s next.
Where else would I be?
My sole task and joy would be
To live under the sky,
Breathing in the essence of this moment—
A slice of eternity—
Living in the reality that I am blessed.
I want a life upheld
By the animating energy of love
That I was bold enough to believe in.
I could now affirm to believe in
The endless support of a loving energy.
I could allow myself to
Embrace the unknown
Like it was the glue that unites the whole world.
Through the generosity of my trust,
I could invite the mystery’s guidance to flow,
Removing my need to walk the world
On my own.
A place of love is what I crave.
I need a place to stay
And belong to my self.
I need to feel the pool of wisdom
In which I swim
And listen to the earth’s song as though
I was basking in an eternal hymn.
To see my self in all beings,
In union with all things and
In harmony with the mysteries—
What could my life be but
A gift of eternity unto itself?
Yes, it is so:
In the heart of abundance, I dwell.
There is a wellspring of renewal and
Support like no other
In the deep reservoir of my soul.
This will be my life.
This is the story I’m here to tell.
