There is such a thing as good news, and it matters. The thing is, I don’t think we’re confronted with enough of it. If we turn on the television or read the newspaper, the first (and maybe only) thing we’ll see is cause for heartbreak and anger. Let’s start a new tradition and extract the joy that’s already out there, while we put more of it into our world; I hope you’ll join me.
I’m ready for more good news, and if you are too, please join me once a month for a reminder that there’s still hope, and a lot of good people, in the world.
I have a really strong feeling that, together, we can create a more loving world that we’re excited to live in. We do that by actively contributing to the kind of world we actually want to experience instead of fueling what we don’t like. (Keep reading, because this is how you make a difference.)
Making a bigger difference begins with acknowledging your power to role model the energy you wish the world had.
It’s so easy to get sucked into negativity, but fear and fire don’t have to be our daily reality, and suffering like that certainly doesn’t have to be our destiny.
Just think about how you feel when you turn on the television or open the newspaper. How easy is it to think that the world is about to collapse in on itself? The good news is that you contribute to reality with every feeling, thought, and action.
You have a say in how loved and loving you and the world you live in feel. You are powerful like that.
This is all why I’m starting something called GOOD NEWS letters. They’re monthly (good) newsletters (get it?) that I’ll start sending on January 7, 2018, and will continue to send on the first Sunday of every month.
Each monthly (love) letter will contain a heartwarming dose of positivity that the world is capable of delivering, and will hopefully inspire us to give back more of what we’d like to be receiving. There’s beauty to behold, we just need to do a little digging sometimes. I’ll do the digging; you can just sip your tea or coffee and read.
Sign up below to get good news delivered on a monthly basis (check that last box). If you’re already signed up for weekday or weekly posts, you can just ignore those boxes.
P.S. If you signed up for monthly messages recently or a long time ago, I apologize for the delay in sending. After two years of writing for this blog, I’m finally ready to take the plunge! Thanks for being here.
What’s Inside These Good News Letters
“Hate” is an incredibly powerful word; fortunately, so is “Love.” The difference is that the first message destroys, while the second builds. What do you want to focus on? Do you want to empower what you love, zoom in on what you want to see more of?There's goodness all over, it may just be a matter of reevaluating what we want to focus on. Click To Tweet
The awesome truth is that your vision of a better world starts to make itself manifest when you start practicing it. So, not only will I share some good news from around the world each month, but I’ll also offer tools to help you practice bringing the joy to life, in your own world.
Here’s what you can expect on the first Sunday of every month:
- 3-5 smile-worthy stories from around the world (maybe more, I’m not sure yet)
- 3-5 positive moments from my world (to inspire you to think about the moments you want to savor; and, it’s good for me to share)
- 3-5 prompts or practices to help you scan your memory for the good things that happened to you over the past month (which will also open your eyes, ears, and heart to the good that’s yet to come)
This gives us all something to look forward to reading, seeing, and celebrating. If you ask me, we need more of that—not only that, but there’s more of that out there to be read, seen, and celebrated. When the mind is beautiful, all of life is beautiful. Click To Tweet
To be a little more precise, I’ll be sending you things like:
- Stories of triumph
- Acts of kindness
- Positive progress
- Ways people are giving back
- Ways we can give back
- How we can transition “scary” into “hopeful”
- Gratitude practices
- Awareness techniques
- Calls for patience and tolerance
- Cause for celebration
I’ll try to keep these Good News Letters short and sweet, packed with positivity and light enough to keep in mind when you go back out into the world, ready to serve your vision.
Remember: The world needs what you can give, and you can give simply by how you choose to live your life.
Do you have any good news to share with me? Stories; personal practices that keep you open to the beauty; people who inspired you; anything else? (I could use some help gathering, so I wouldn’t mind your contributions!)
Please share your thoughts and any suggestions for the first round of good news with me in the comments (or send me an email: jen AT aimhappy DOT come).
Be the person who carries a lamp down the whole darkened street; send this invitation to a fellow human, hungry for light and ready for a change.
If we all vowed to take care of our energy and bring our own light, how much brighter would the whole world be?
