I want to write about, read about, and talk about trusting the unknown. It’s most of life. It is, so to speak, the heart of the universe that we do know. Being a student of life, first and foremost, would, I think, liberate us to live better in most ways.
It’s quite a heart-opening exercise, to declare oneself a student of life.
I think it’s also one of the most liberating declarations we can make.
If we were students of life, wouldn’t everything and everyone be our teacher?
How much easier it might be to look at others, even and especially those with whom we have grievances, as though they held the seed of our own expansion — or, rather, the nourishment for the seed. We might even be able to soften our perceptions enough to receive the gift: the teaching: the growth.
Allowing life to be a classroom opens a lot of doors, makes light out of the darkness, mends a broken heart, and plants meaning where others harvest nothing but suffering.
Here are some thoughts on allowing ourselves to glide with the mysteries, to learn and unlearn more gracefully than we’ve done in the past.
