8 Sanskrit Mantras for Hope When You Need It Most

8 Sanskrit Mantras for Hope When You Need It Most

If you need a little more light today, try these Sanskrit mantras for hope. You’ve been given another day of life, after all, and with it the chance to breathe in and out something new.

(These mantras are from/inspired by one of Chopra Center's 21-Day Meditations Experiences, which I highly recommend.)

8 Sanskrit Mantras for Hope in Uncertain Times

1. Sheevo Hum: I am pure potentiality.

Uncertainty isn't my enemy, but an opening. I embrace this unknown from a place of inner security and trust. I harness the creative potential of the whole universe. I align with it and I become pure potentiality. Hope is my very source of strength.

2. Samprati Hum: My true self is wide awake.

Hope is an intrinsic part of who I am and it’s capable of transforming my world as I see it. Hope is always available to me, but I need to be wide awake to it. Here, now, I wake up to all the goodness that's available to me. It's the foundation I stand on as I take just one step forward.

3. Eem Hreem Kleem: I radiate confidence and strength.

I am at ease with not knowing. I can wait with purpose. I don't need to have all the answers to know that all is well inside. I listen for messages that I'm on the right path and meet each situation with hope. I can be strong in love, even in the face of fear, and I can grow.

4. Om Durgaya Namah: I am fearless.

Who I am has nothing to do with fear and everything to do with creative potential. I am free to make a future that's based on the peace I feel in this moment, and not one based on my past. Anything is possible from this place, and I welcome whatever is on its way.

5. Aham Brahmasmi: I am the wholeness of universal existence.

By having hope, I bring the infinite quality of creativity into my reality. I am hopeful because I am realistic and I know just how powerful my mind can be at co-creating a reality that best suits me. I am, after all, the manifestation of the whole universe.

6. Om Aieem Namah: My true self is inspired and wise.

My hope is built on a foundation of self-awareness and self-trust. I am born of the same intelligence that keeps the universe in constant motion, the flowers blooming, the world turning. I trust the wisdom that created me to carry me through this.

7. Shree Gum Namah: My limitless awareness overcomes all obstacles.

There is a way through every block. There is help and I am willing to ask for it. I can find hope in all things, for all things are part of my progress. Today I pay attention to the open doors, the new ideas, the support around me. I can find hope everywhere, and I'm free to explore each moment without anxiety.

8. Om Shara Vana Ya: My awareness is aligned with the creative power of the universe.

Right now as I breathe, there’s a quiet consciousness that’s experiencing me: the true me that's bigger than every thought, bigger than every fear. I let myself become totally present in this moment, right where I am, right as I am. This is my life, and this *is* life. I don't need to fight this. I let life carry me instead. Right here and now, my whole life is expansive.

Sweethome… yes, these are inspired by the Chopra Center meditations! They were so helpful to me that I thought to share them in my own way, with some added words and interpretations. So glad you love them too :)

    Namaste Jen,

Om Shree Gum Namah is my favorite. I am a part of the whole Cosmos; though finite, I am part and parcel of the whole cosmic mystery. Like a single drop of water from the ocean has the taste and savroop (shape) of ocean(whole entity, infinite, available). What I need is will power to get connected. Once I open my consciousness, the WHOLE source opens up. If you dare open a pomegranate, its juicy red seeds will welcome you and thank you for freeing them. As you said," Hope is everywhere." You also said, “I am free to explore each moment without anxiety.” I would change it to “I will explore and find hope. I am prepared to transcend fear and anxiety. I will. This Mantra needs ‘sankalap’(your commitment) to find hope. Like I will open the window,to get fresh air.If you just say,” I am free to open the window," the window does not open. The whole cosmos/universe is dying to pour unto you. Just be ready.
    OM! SHANTISHANTI!
