These simple summer affirmations will help you begin to use two of the most (if not the most) powerful words, I AM, to your advantage. The intention with each affirmation is to redirect your focus when you feel anything other than wonderful, so you can truly enjoy summer. After all, it’s hard to have fun if we don’t feel really good inside.
“You can have many great ideas in your head, but what makes the difference is the action. Without action upon an idea, there will be no manifestation, no results, and no reward.” – Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements
I want to have more fun, and I want to walk through my life experiences with a deeper lightheartedness, so I’m planting these ideas in the fertile soil of my own willingness to try. If you want to feel really good being alive, too, I hope you’re willing to try.
I believe that any intention that sets out to enhance one’s enjoyment of life is a noble one. We need to follow our great intentions with action, though, if we’re going to make a true difference.
These summer affirmations are like food for your intentions—the ideas you have that you really want to insert into daily life. These words are your inspiration, your fertilizer, and a foundation for bringing something new to life.
Reading something nice is one thing, but putting it into action is another; so, write your ideas down, read them out loud, listen to them and feel them, and do that often. Plant them consciously in your vision, and water them with repetition.
I’m sure you know that there’s no substitute for action, but action sometimes means paying attention to your own preferences more often. After all, it’s a way of training your brain to see things differently, which will absolutely change the way you’re living in the world.
If you want to have more fun, too, and enjoy the ride without stressing about every little thing (yes, this is what I need to do), I hope you find something you really like here, and you take it into thoughtful consideration as you walk through your day.
Eventually, the feelings you commit to with intensity and passion will begin to emanate. How you live will slowly and surely start to revolve around your preferences (for joy, laughter, fun, curiosity, calm, and whatever else you want more of).
Most importantly, and as always: Enjoy yourself.
7 Summer Affirmations That Pay Homage to the Joy of Living
1. I am in love with the idea of a peaceful inside and a vibrant outside.
Whatever doesn’t support inner peace or the expression of joy, I just don’t focus on it. I surrender it, let it go, give it up, and let a higher order handle what I don’t need to. It’s not my job to bulldoze the blocks that keep me from feeling lighthearted; it IS my job to stay open-minded to life’s many pleasures, treasures, and possibilities.
2. I am so grateful to breathe in this season.
I am blessed to be alive—really, how amazing is that? I am breathing new and ancient air without even trying. I watch flowers grow, hear the music of the natural world, feel the wind on my skin, smell the uniqueness of each place I visit, and taste the bounty of the earth. I am a part of one big miracle, like a wave in (and of) the ocean.
3. I am exactly where I need to be and who I am meant to be.
I stand on an ever-increasing platform of possibility and wonder. What I once thought I missed out on is on its way back to me—maybe in another form and in another place, but surely better suited for me now. The way to flourish into who I want to be is to nourish who I am right now, in this place.
4. I am tethered to the belief that all is ultimately well with my soul.
I choose to believe that all is well with my soul, and it’s a belief that serves humanity well. I trust in the process of the human journey, I trust that I am being guided and supported along the way, and I deeply, humbly trust that I’m here to enjoy the ride… so that’s what I’m intent on doing.
5. I am attracting new and exciting adventures every time I feel good.
When I feel good, I naturally and inevitably attract more like-energy. More good feelings come to me because I’m on the same wavelength. If I don’t feel good, I respectfully honor that feeling as a signal that I’m not in harmony with my higher self/power, and I heed to its message. Life wants me to have fun. Life wants me to enjoy it.
6. I am always soothed with a little sun.
The sunshine is a reminder that my problems are smaller than they seem, I am supported, and my joy holds more meaning than I will ever need. I embrace the sun’s rays and absorb their life-giving light, and I feel better. Light fills every crack, so I’m confident that even my brokenness is cause for celebration, because I am still full.
7. I am here to enjoy the growing process.
Everything is here to teach me, guide me, grow me, and show me. Even though I may have fears, I face them and gain confidence. Although I experience growing pains, my tears are healing messengers of mercy. No matter what I’ve been through, I remain lighthearted and open, and I am still willing to have fun—I’m devoted to it.
