Your personal power to create the kind of life you experience is beyond imagination, really; how could we possibly imagine every possibility? Whatever it is you’d like to have more control over, whatever you’d like to enjoy more and resist less, know that you contain what it takes to live the way you want to live.
It doesn’t matter much the manner inspiration comes, so long as it comes with heartfelt intent.
It’s incredible how many ways there are to introduce (and recycle) positive messages into the world. Social media can be one of the greatest platforms for collaborative healing and growth, because it unites people and makes friends out of strangers. As with all tools, it’s up to us how we use it.
One thing about reclaiming our personal power to live the way we want to live is to take responsibility for what we are contributing.
For me, social media has nourished my intent to spread healing messages of hope to more people. I consider my online presence as a whole to be a vehicle for self-acceptance, self-empowerment, inner peace, and joy. That’s why I’m sharing five favorite messages from my Instagram page, penned with the intent to empower.
You’re powerful enough to make a meaningful difference by consciously choosing the quality of your presence.
Think of one domain of life you’d like to feel more powerful in. Where do you need more confidence, courage, and faith? If you felt more capable of making a difference, what might you do differently?
5 Love Notes (from Me) to Help You Reclaim Your Personal Power
1. Optimism and gratitude give you power over your circumstances.
Optimism is realistic, because it allows us to both see things as they are and infuse the situation with our own trust that things are working out on behalf of the greatest, highest good, and/or that things can get better.
Gratitude is revolutionary, because it transforms every experience into an opportunity to see beyond the obvious to the deeper essence of life underneath what we’re seeing.
Optimism and gratitude are qualities of living, and states of being, that plant us in possibility, instead of keeping us stuck in despair, anger, and stressful perceptions. I know that I do better work, get more done, think of creative solutions, and enjoy the journey more when I dwell in optimism and appreciation.Optimism and gratitude give you power over your circumstances. 2. If you want to change your life, change your energy.
Mental energy, as well as emotional energy, is a kind of currency. We literally magnetize what we devote our mental and emotional energy to most. It’s not some abstract theory, but a universal law that we end up surrounded by the energy we dwell in, focus on, and thus put out into the world around us.
Not being able to see something with the naked eye, by all means, doesn’t mean there’s nothing there to see. Life is, in a very real way, expressing itself through you and me; consciousness is flowing through us when we stay open and present enough, aware enough, spacious enough to let it through.
3. Focus on what IS working, and replicate it.
Real positive change comes easier and swiftly when we start focusing our attention on what we DO want, like, and enjoy already—what’s working, in other words. We often think we’re directing our thoughts and energy toward what we want, but we’re actually focusing on the absence of it (and there’s a BIG difference).
When we focus on what is working, we feel wonderful. When we focus on the absence of what we want, like, and enjoy, we feel terrible… Our emotional guidance system is a fantastic compass for knowing whether we’re aligned with the vibration of what we want more of, or what we don’t want at all.
Focus on the good feelings that come with thinking about what you love in life, notice when you’re on and off track, and keep encouraging yourself to return to them. 4. Be someone that makes you happy.
Stop waiting to start enjoying. Right now, be that person you want to be around. Do something spontaneously nice for someone. Do a little extra something that elicits a genuine smile. Opt for a kind thought that soothes a painful one.
If there’s something you know you want to be doing but you’ve been putting it off, just do it right now!
What’s one small thing you can do right now to generate happiness? Do something. 5. There is pure magic in your undying hope.
Don’t let what you’ve seen steal the magic of what’s inside. In fact, it can’t.
What I love the most, I think, is the creative power of the human spirit. Even when we’ve hurt so badly, we can make such a powerfully positive impact on the world. We can make a difference—not despite our tragedies and wounds, but through them. What feels like a mess right now might very well become your most healing message of all. Click To Tweet
