This is a positive affirmation to step into the light, to literally and figuratively let the sunshine sink into your soul, when you’re having a tough time pulling yourself through the darkness. In fact, the sun has never stopped shining on you; the light will always fill the broken edges of your humanness when you turn the wounds over to it.
“The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light.” – S. Ajna
Sunshine Is My Shaman
The sun is a daily reminder that I, too, can rise from a dark night and turn my sorrows over to the light.
One day, I realized that when I turned my broken self over to the light, the light filled all those cracks that I thought would break me, and I felt whole again.
I also realized that I always was whole, and always will be, because even when we feel broken inside, it just means something new can come in, and come through–whether that’s light, or space, or fresh energy, or a different perspective.
When the sun is shining, I feel like nothing is too difficult to overcome. The wonderful thing is that the sun is always shining; neither the darkest night nor the grayest clouds can stop that from being the case.
Allowing the light to shine on you is a realization that every flower must grow through dirt, but the dirt doesn’t stop the flower from reaching for the light. We need the dirt to root us firmly in our humanness, and we need the sun to remind us that there’s something higher to reach for.
The more light you open yourself up to, the brighter the world you live in becomes.
Let the sunshine be a constant reminder that you will not be crushed by the weight of what causes you pain. The sun will help you grow and awaken to the beautiful possibilities that still exist in this lifetime.
There is no darkness too heavy to lift, too deep to climb out of, or too blinding that you won’t see the light again.
Let the Sunshine Stitch You Back Together
If I feel weary and broken down inside, I imagine a seamstress of golden light connecting me to a deeper version of myself, and I feel a little more whole again.
What hurts can be healed. What’s broken can be mended. I think we’re more beautiful because we’ve been broken, because we’ve learned to trust a little harder, live a little softer, and be a bigger light in a world that so needs it.
When it’s too dark to see a way out, close your eyes and open your heart–that’s how the light of awareness can grow in you, and guide you to the next right step. Getting still inside, not identifying with whatever thoughts you’ve been focusing on, catapults you into a healing state.
When you let presence take over, healing begins to emerge.
The arising awareness in you sheds light on what’s really going on: you’re human, and therefore you will break, but you are a source of life, so therefore you cannot break. Life as a human being is a paradox, and quite often a mystery, but luckily we don’t need to understand it to live it.
The wholeness that you were born from cannot be truly taken away, because you’re always on your way back to it. Yet, you can never really be separated from it, maybe only pinched off from who you really are.
Let the sunshine straighten out the kinks and return you back to your natural state, which is unbreakable and unshakeable. Even if you only get to that state of being for one short moment in time, that’s all it takes to awaken the awareness of your true nature inside. It takes no time.
Morph Your Wounds into Something New
All my wounds, kissed by the light, are transformed into guides, gifts, and new strength.
As you let the sunshine awaken healing in you, you’re reconnected with the light of your awareness and that light shines brighter through you into the world. You’re more fully aware of your own power, worth, potential, and connection to everything that’s an expression of life… because you’re aware that you ARE life.
When you’re shining more brightly, living more vibrantly, in the world, you give other people permission and inspiration to do the same.
Your healing awakens the possibility of healing in someone else.
Even through tragedy, we can discover a whole new way of being in the world, one that’s more richly aligned with the depth of being alive. We’re ushered into another stage of life. Our mess becomes our message. We’re more acutely aware of a certain flame inside, that could only have been stoked by the spark of something greater than ourselves.
“Deep in their roots,” Theodore Roethke, poet, once wrote, “all flowers keep the light.”
We can walk through the pain, knowing there’s something else ahead, above, and within. And we can help others through this very human expression of life.
