I Am Enough — A Poem about Worthiness

I Am Enough — A Poem about Worthiness

Your worth goes to your core. This is the truth: You’re worthy now. You are enough, and I am enough, and this poem is dedicated to that Truth.

Don’t think you’re enough, whole, loving, essential? Read this poem. It’s a prayer, an affirmation, wisdom that goes deeper than what you think about yourself.

The real truth is you’ve been worthy all along. Enough. Whole in your essence. Here for a reason.

The teaching embedded in this poem is one of remembrance through presence. It’s an exploration of your innate self-worth by way of inhabiting the fullness of this moment. It’s a declaration of truth, a prayer for healing.

You’re connected to everything. You’re the earth and its flowers. You’re the stars in the sky. Everything is here with you. And you belong to everything, including yourself. Because: you are everything.

Read this poem like it’s yours. It is.

And if you really love it, get the poetry print version of it here! It'll remind you every day that you're here for a reason.

Your worth goes to your core. This is the truth: You’re worthy now. You are enough, and I am enough, and this poem is dedicated to that Truth. Don’t remember that you’ve always been enough, whole, loving, essential? Read this poem. It’s a prayer, an affirmation, wisdom that goes deeper than what you think about yourself.

I Am Enough — A Poem about Worthiness

There is a wholeness that’s already mine.

It’s already ours.

I am not just the seed,

I am the rain that waters the flower.

It’s a reality that’s already there,

That I am enough.

I take on faith

That wholeness is already mine,

That I need do nothing to deserve,

That my worthiness is based only on my being.

I am wise enough to let go,

And I am strong enough to remember the truth

Of who I really am.

I can encounter the world

In such a way

That I remember who I am.

I am the rest inside the unrest.

I am the depth of the sky,

And the light piercing the sea.

I am the crest of a wave.

All that I need to be,

I am.

There is no problem to solve in this moment.

There is no plan to make,

No failure to be feared,

No other place to be.

This moment is enough.

This place is enough.

This imperfection is enough.

I am patient enough for my life to unfold in divine timing.

I feel the fullness of my life in this moment.

I feel the richness of my life in this space.

I am loved beyond thought,

And I have nothing to prove.

There is no one to impress.

I receive the message

That being is enough.

I am wise enough to see magic through a child’s eyes.

I am resilient enough to see past the pain.

I am kind enough to realize

That my worth has been with me

This whole time.

Beyond the shadows

That I have created,

The message remains:

I am the same.

I have always been enough,

Simply by being here.

Simply by being.

It only takes a moment,

And I remember this again.

Hi Jennifer, I just wanted to tell you how moving this poem is. I read and shared it with a group of women in transition and the lights that turned on in every woman was amazing. I too am a writer and have co-authored a book called I AM ENOUGH and would love to connect with you and give you feedback from the event for your records. Have an amazing day!

    Hello Jennifer,

I love your poem. I’m a mental health therapist and I work with psychedelic medicines and ketamine, so I often use written pieces, meditations, etc. to lead clients into the journey.
I randomly found your poem online when searching for “poems on worthiness,” literally this week, and have read it in session FIVE times since. It works for so many intentions, from self-compassion to acceptance, change and resilience, and inner child work.

Thank you. This poem is right up there with others we use and consider sacred, such as Rumi’s Guest House.

    Take good care.

Hi Jennifer, I want to share this beautiful, hard to remember, almost impossible to grasp, message of love! May I read it in our worship service this Sunday? If so, how can I best credit, honor, or compensate you?

I so needed to read the second verse (I don’t know what else to call it). It’s reminding me to be my true self. To remember who I really am. I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting to my childhood, how I felt around certain people, places, and things. Remembering the values instilled in me by my parents. All the good things about myself and how I interact with people (including my family). It tells me that I am a worthy person of all good things. But most of all, I am enough just because I am as I am., that’s it. That is enough to be worthy 🌸🐝

I lead meditation classes for cancer patients and I always end with a poem. I came upon yours and I instantly knew it would be perfect for my class. I am always addressing the problem of people trying to fix themselves through meditation or attempting to reach some goal or state of bliss, which is not the appropriate attitude to begin a meditation practice. Your poem says it all.
    Thank you so much!

Your poem is so beautiful and I was wondering if it would be ok with you if I shared it with inmates at our local jail? Your words are so necessary for them at this moment (and all moments). I would be sure to give you credit.
