Healing Thoughts to Help You Trust the Process

Healing Thoughts to Help You Trust the Process

If you’re facing something you'd rather not be facing, read these thoughts to help you to trust the process you're part of. Hope doesn't come after you have all the answers. Hope is what comes first.

“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?” – Elif Shafak, Forty Rules of Love: A Novel of Rumi

Healing Thoughts to Help You Trust the Process, Because It's All Part of the Process

1. Your direction matters more than where you were, maybe even more than where you are.

Direction is more important than both speed and the placement of your feet. You have all the light you need for today, and tomorrow’s light will be given to you then. What you need comes through you when you need it most, not a moment sooner or later than it's meant to.

When you’re confused about where you "should" be, say this to yourself: “I don’t know where I’m meant to be in the future, but I’m supposed to be right here in this moment to learn what I need to learn, to see what I need to see. So that I can be where I’m meant to be tomorrow.”

Slow and steady, because there is no race.

“'How does one become a butterfly?' she asked pensively. 'You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.' 'You mean to die?' asked Yellow… 'Yes and No,' he answered." - Trina Paulos, Hope for the Flowers

2. There's more beauty in store for you than you could ever plan for on your own.

How can your life be wrong when you're a portal where the universe has come alive, conscious of its own existence? How could this, your being here, not be a gift?

You don’t need to understand the bigger plan or control everything, just make space for it all to unfold.

"I am learning to trust the journey even when I don’t understand it." – Mila Bron

3. What you imagine puts that very thing, that very reality, into motion.

What you think about makes a difference. Visualizing your positive potential helps you bring that reality into each step, now. And having this abiding faith that you're co-creating your life helps you live this moment with less anxiety.

The hope you feed here and now, and the vision you hold for the future, it waters the roots of the flowers that have yet to bloom.

4. Even here, in all your unknowns, it's still your turn to breathe. And you can breathe your way through this next mystery.

Embrace what's showing up for you. You can turn it into a season of purpose instead of a season of waiting, a chapter of resilience and a lesson in letting go of what's not yours to control.

“Love is what’s left when I let go of fear.” – Wayne Dyer

Sometimes, you need to be shaken to be awakened to new life... the life that's waiting for you.

5. Letting go sets you free to feel more alive.

Try this affirmation:

"When I let go, I feel that all is well. When I let go of attachment to who I’m supposed to be, I feel closer to who I really am. The bliss of eternity rests here. And so I let go of all the “shoulds” that have left me feeling small. I know I am greater, bigger than I have ever believed."

Letting go of what life “should” feels life forgiveness, which feels like freedom.

You don’t need to control other people, fix the world, or heal every broken heart. You need to be fully alive in who you are, that is all.

6. You're powerful enough to transform what you're feeling.

Don't deny what you're feeling. Feel your feelings with intense compassion, one that doesn't leave any fragmented piece of you behind. So you can move forward, when you're ready.

First and foremost, you are a child of the universe. You're trying to make sense of the stars in you, and it’s a hard thing to do. You don’t need to understand why things happen or how you'll ever feel better again. You can be confused, and be okay with being confused.

That acceptance happens one breath at a time. That's your power.

. . .

I am nearing end of a very hard emotional healing journey. Acceptance of all the thoughts and feelings has been very hard. Letting go of control is what I am working on.
Love the words Jen, that you have written xx
