When we drop our need to control every aspect of our life situation, we allow the pain of holding on (to whatever we’re protecting) to release itself. That hopeful, positive attitude clears the space for new pathways to reveal themselves. Trading comparison for cooperation and resistance for accord, we enter a state of allowing, abundance, and ease.
“A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.” – Wade Boggs
It’s easy to fixate on the bad news and think that constitutes the majority of reality. The fact is that everything in life happens, and it’s under no obligation to live up to our standards. Opting for a positive attitude can free us from the constant demand of controlling what we are not required to control.
This affirmation is for all of us who want to free ourselves from the illusion that, surely, life must be a constant struggle.
I Live in a Supportive Universe
I trust in what’s for the highest good for all.
Trusting life can be hard, but it’s not an impossibility, only a practice. I know how easy it is to get sucked into the darkness, because it’s louder and tends to drown out the good parts of life. I am, however, willing to listen more closely to what kind of possibility is dwelling beneath the surface, even within the pain itself.
Every rock that stands in my way may just be an unturned stone with a crystal lurking on the other side.
I believe in what’s possible, and my positive attitude leaves no stone unturned on the path of discovering new possibilities. What looks ordinary on the outside could be holding a jewel inside. Do not judge your rocks. Click To Tweet
When good things fall apart, things are surely in the process of rearranging themselves, turning over stones in search for some treasure. I don’t always need to know why some things happen the way that they do. The universe is under no obligation to reveal its secrets to me.
I am under no obligation to see the beauty beyond the rubble, but maintaining a positive attitude based on hope and good faith supports my joy in the journey. It’s all a journey, after all: Why not bring joy with me on the way, so that I may enjoy the fruits of the joyous journey upon my arrival?
There’s a force greater than myself that handles the entire universe so that I do not have to: I place my faith here, in what’s best for all, not just for myself and my narrowed perceptions of what’s right and wrong. I let this powerful current run my life, letting it work through me: I do not wish to fight the current.A positive attitude emits the harmonious frequency of cooperation, hope, and abundance. I Am Focused on the Journey I Am Walking
This sense of being part of something larger frees me from specific outcomes and opens my heart to another way.
I am not limited to one way of walking this earth; there are endless paths that are available to me, and I am available to all that’s possible. I am receptive to new ideas and know that even obstacles are merely detours, either encouraging me to explore new territory or another mode of travel.
I am engaged with the journey as I walk it; I do not wish to be where I am not.
If I always stayed on the highway of my planned life experience, I would never know the quaint little towns that lie just beyond my expectations. I’m allowed to loosen my grip on the steering wheel and enjoy the scenic routes. I might find something nice while looking for something else.Happiness isn't a pristine palace of perfection; it's a lamp-lit path home. It's the walk there. Click To Tweet
The truth is that I’m connected to the essence of what I desire in the world already, like an invisible cord, or like the beginning of a path being naturally connected to wherever it leads. What matters most is that I’m on the path, that I am alive at all.
When I feel the tension of not being there, I practice gratitude for being here.
I Practice Embracing the Confusion with a Positive Attitude
I am not General Manager of the Universe; therefore, it’s natural for me to believe that something good is always working on my behalf: on behalf of the highest good for all.
I do not judge the universe. My positive attitude is a testament to the hope that lingers in the darkness. I am humbled by the abundance I am granted when all seems to be going well. I choose to be a shining example of what’s possible for us all, no matter what situation I find myself in.In times of deep sadness and in times of bliss, how you live is an example of what's possible. When confusion clouds my vision, I relinquish my need to know the answers. Confusion is not a problem if I learn to be okay with the confusion. As soon as I learn to get comfortable with not knowing, I am free. I am a flashlight that cuts through the fog.
I am in the continuous practice of allowing change, even when it comes in the form of unplanned events or unfavorable circumstances. I open myself up to the natural order of all things, pondering the possibility that perhaps everything is working on behalf of my highest potential.
- Think of one instance when your positive attitude transformed you, and how did that shift the way things unfolded for you thereafter?
- Life might be painful in some way for you right now, and it’s hard to see the light. Think of one alternative belief that you can resonate with (maybe it feels like a tad bit better). What new thought can you start practicing, from this day forward?

When something happens that shakes up your world, just be aware of what’s happening inside. Your awareness is the door to how you want to feel, no matter what happens.
