Your happiness is in your own hands. Today, affirm to take back your power and own your happiness by owning ALL of your experiences. Accept your innate capacity to unlock joy and gratitude in any given situation, and you will become better acquainted with the ever-present abundance of love that’s all around, and within yourself.
“Look in the mirror every day and say, I am in charge. You might not have control over every phase of your life, but you have more control than you realize, and you are responsible for your own happiness and success.” – Harvey Mackay
Be Your Own Hero
I take ownership for my life.
Peace does not come when we point fingers. If we happen to find ourselves stuck in the habit of blaming and acting as though we are a victim of life itself, we must request to see things differently. Let us face the truth, which is this: We have the power to be our own hero, always.Above all, be the heroine of your own life, not the victim. – Nora Ephron Click To Tweet
Pointing fingers and directing blame does not lead to inner peace. All it does is guarantee that you become the victim of the situation. You don’t win. The situation doesn’t win. The other person doesn’t win. Nobody wins. When that’s the case, choose again. Choose to think differently about what’s happening.
Also, recognize that if you protect an unforgiving heart, you are the one suffering. Forgiveness is an expression of love, and that means it’s for giving, and thus receiving. We cannot withhold love, because that’s not love at all—it’s an illusion we hold to be true.
In order to own your happiness, you must be willing to forgive others for their own mistakes and you for yours. You must be willing to forgive life for not being what you expected it to be, and you must be willing to relinquish your resistance to love by giving it to the world.
Be your own hero: Stop blaming, stop dwelling in the noise of negativity, and start witnessing how the more you give love, the more love fills your life.
Prioritize Your Inner Peace
The outside world does not dictate my inner world.
Life is a balance of good and bad, noise and stillness, darkness and light. We don’t need to block out the negativity in favor of the positivity, for by doing so we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the fullness of life. We can awaken to both the light and the dark without dwelling in the darkness, but swim instead in the beautiful depths of all that is good.In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you. – Deepak Chopra Click To Tweet
We cannot always choose our experiences, but we’re able to choose how we experience those experiences.
For instance, there needn’t be any blame or shame for past hurts and mistakes. Embrace a new perspective that would better serve you in this moment, not yesterday’s heartache. Place your sight upon the unknown possibility that dwells only here, and lift your gaze to the peace that’s present when you become fully present.
When peace and happiness are our priorities, we become detectives on the hunt for the beauty in the tragedy, the gifts in the endings, the miracles in the small moments, and the love that continues on.
Own Your Happiness
I can take back my power and be happy right now.
With this new vision for yourself, try looking again. Watch as life happens all around you, and feel it in your heart that you are truly taken care of. The outside world doesn’t dictate your inner world, because you have discovered within you an invincible calm, a light that cannot be dimmed.
Sometimes you may waver, but each time you return back to this joyful state, you’ll remember again that it has never left you, because it is who you really are.“There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy.” – Ralph Blum Click To Tweet
Each time temptation would persuade you to blame another for your misery, repeat this to yourself: I own my happiness. With your return to this peaceful place inside, praise life for granting you the opportunity to walk to higher ground.
Stay grateful for the many opportunities that grace you with their presence, even though they may seem painful on the surface. And if you miss an opportunity to be grateful or to know peace or to shine your light, there’s an opportunity waiting in the next moment.
