“Ego says, ‘Once everything falls into place, I’ll feel peace.’ Spirit says, ‘Find your peace, and then everything will fall into place.’” – Marianne Williamson
Repeating this positive affirmation for peace will guide you back home, to yourself. Though it’s not easy–most (if not all) of us have experienced extremely challenging life events–it’s possible to see the light again after being in the dark. It’s possible to become happy even after the saddest times.
It’s possible to be at peace when life gives you every reason to feel stressed, anxious, doubtful, or regretful.
Sometimes life is hard, and sometimes it’s easy. Sometimes life feels fragile, yet it continues to move and change and flow. When it feels like your world is crumbling around you, remember this affirmation for peace…
“I trust life.”

An Affirmation for Peace Through Faith
I wish I knew about this affirmation when my brother passed away almost five years ago. Though, to be honest, I’m not so sure I would have been open to the idea of trusting life. All I wanted was to stay in the darkness. If you’ve been there too, or if you’re there now, you’re not alone.
Now, after the heartbreaking loss of my father, I’m more open to the idea of trusting life, though it’s still very difficult. Even so, I’m finding deep comfort in these simple words…
“I trust life.”
Trusting life means that there’s still this part of you, however small, that believes in something more, something greater than the present pain, something bigger than yourself. That doesn’t mean you have to understand it completely or preach it.
This part of you is trying to remind you that life exists for you, within you, all around you, and beyond you… Life is you and you are life.
Trusting life means to keep your faith that you’re part of something more, that you are not separate from the truth and the beauty and the love that exists even in the darkest of times. Having faith in the universe is to remind yourself again and again how vast life is, and that you are more than you could ever imagine.
The pain that exists in this world can place a veil over the beauty, but it can never touch the truth. The more you reaffirm your trust in life, the more it becomes a part of your belief system and your faith. Let your thoughts, words, and actions today be an affirmation for peace.
We’ve all heard it, and in times of tragic grief, it’s usually the last thing we want to hear: “Everything happens for a reason.” Let’s shorten that up a bit to “Everything happens.” That’s a truth we can all hold onto, and it’s a good thing.
The universe is constantly in flux, creating and transforming energy into various forms. What we feel is “lost” is not. It has only changed. What we think has “died” has not. It has only been reborn, released as a new expression of life. Energy changes form but is never destroyed. In this we can trust.
Trusting the Process of Life
When we’re crying over traffic jams and spilled milk, remember this affirmation for peace, or a variation of it: “I trust in the process of life.”
Remembering and repeating these words can have a surprisingly powerful impact on our perspective. “Good” things happen. “Bad” things happen. Everything happens. Whether it’s labeled as “good” or “bad” is highly dependent on our perspective.
We may not want to acknowledge that there could be a higher motive behind negative circumstances. We can be willing to shift our viewpoint, though. Good and bad coexist. Tragedy and beauty coexist. Life and death coexist. Always seek the good, appreciate the beauty, trust in life, and trust love one more time.
Love is an inherent presence in everything, and the more we intend to trust love, the deeper our connection to the presence of love grows.
We are One
Life is not biased. On the spiritual realm, we are all equal. Life is not working against any of us, but for us: life lives through us.
Though we can resist it, life is much easier and more beautiful when we work with it and allow it to work through us. Life is for all of us, and it’s not trying to punish you. Each day we wake up is a gift, a blessing to be recognized and a treasure to be sought.
The words, “I trust life,” can bring you back from the brinks of insane thinking. This affirmation for peace can totally readjust your sight in the moment, if you allow it to. Always remind yourself that there is more than the situation at hand, you are more than your struggles, and life is more than the pain you bear.
We are all intrinsically connected. Our lives are woven together by an invisible thread. We are here, together, and we all undergo change, which is usually uncomfortable and sometimes painful. We all can, together, again see the light when the darkness is near.
Together, we are more. Together, we can build again and make a profound difference in the world.
If you are ever in the darkness, know that you can always reach out to me. I don’t have all the answers, but I am here, and I’ve been there more than once. I may not understand everything about what you’re going through, but I’ll be a friend through it. We are all here together, under the same sky, breathing the same air, expressing the one life.
